Community Leader
International Orphans Foundation, Inc. is seeking dedicated volunteers to establish and coordinate IOF efforts on a regional basis. Each region encompasses a 25-50 mile radius. This is a significant leadership role in the efforts of finding Sponsors for our IOF Children’s Homes and individual orphaned children worldwide.
This position has a time requirement of approximately 12 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement IOF strategies by recruiting, motivating and training volunteers of various levels within your region, including Public
- Relations Specialist, Guest Speakers and Office Volunteers.
Coordinating efforts to insure established goals for recruitment of sponsors within your region are met.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan to strengthen relationships within the faith community and increase IOF’s capacity for program delivery.
- Delivering presentations to corporations as well as faith-based groups to recruit volunteers and support for IOF programs.
- Overseeing and organizing community activities that raise awareness of IOF and its mission.
- Ensuring the follow-up of all applications for program involvement generated by volunteers, public relations efforts, informational sessions and/or other initiatives.
- Providing timely and accurate information for volunteers, donors, and other interested parties.
- Providing input for strategies for volunteer recruitment.
- Implementing, facilitating, and monitoring implementation of volunteer recognition programs and activities.
- Facilitating the goal-setting process for volunteer development within local teams.
- Performing other related duties as assigned by Executive Director, including duties unique to particular events.
Qualifications:
- Experience mobilizing community-based programs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide volunteer leadership and organize volunteer activities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including managing and prioritizing projects and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to adjust to and work in independent, supervised and team-based environments.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours.
- Knowledge of and respect for churches being served.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A strong desire to help IOF in its mission to seek Sponsors for our IOF Children’s Homes and individual orphaned children worldwide.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Cross-cultural experience a plus.
